Celebrating 14 Years of Ministry
Fourteen years ago, Women and Men of Excellence Outreach Ministries was birthed. Inspired by her story -- in her own words, "my misery became my ministry" -- Apostle Dr Faith Walters took up the mantle and made the choice to heed the call of God to pursue His purpose.
Apostle Faith A. Walters received the call from the Lord to begin a ministry that would empower individuals for success in the kingdom of God. She would empower many who have suffered various aspects of abuse, low self-esteem or insecurities and don’t believe they have what it takes to excel in life. Also, those individuals who will take the challenge to walk independently and know that if they trust and believe in God great things will happen in their lives.
The ministry began with the foundation of prayer on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 in the home of Sis. Palmer-Thompson of 12 Bushnell Place, Mount Vernon, NY. We were then joined by a co-worker Sis. L. King (who has now relocated) and Apostle Faith’s family. Later was joined by other friends and their families. After which it was held in the basement of Apostle Faith’s home. The main services were initially held on Tuesday nights 7:00-pm – 9:00 pm. Our new times are Wednesdays 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm held at 53 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Mt. Vernon, NY 10550 (Sea Lounge Restaurant).
In celebration of this milestone, Apostle Faith will be joined by special guest speakers Pastor Delrene Fordyce, Gospel Foundation International Healing Ministries located in the Bronx, NY; Evangelist Veronica Carrington, Sisters Keeping it Real Today Ministries located in Philadelphia, PA; Bishop Larry Batts, Judah Prayer Deliverance Ministries located in Mount Vernon, NY and Elder Valerie Montgomery, Damascus Ministries located in Brooklyn, New York.
This year, Apostle Faith and her team will be carrying out a food drive in the community of Mount Vernon, handing out food packages as a relief effort for community members affected by the coronavirus, Covid-19.
